The Baby Steps I Took To Living My Dreams and How You Too Can Begin Today

How often have you found your mind wandering off to a place and time that feels so far away? Perhaps after youBaby Steps Picture come around you say to yourself that it is just a silly dream?  Have you ever had the thought, if only I had X?  Perhaps you have had someone you loved and respected, or maybe just society, tell you to be realistic.

Well right now I need for you to throw realism away.  I want you to start thinking about those dreams once again.  By the time you are finished reading this your dreams will be closer to reality than you ever thought.

The number one reason I hear from people why they are not living their dreams is lack of motivation.  I call BS on this one.  This is not their fault and I, in no way, think there is a motivation issue here.  Who wouldn’t want to live their dreams?  So you might ask, well then what is the real reason?

The real reason is this, throughout peoples lives they have been pushed to be realists.  This is true for mostly everybody. Those unique individuals that have not allowed realism to get in the way are the people that are truly loving life.<-Click to Tweet

Using my Dream Planning method you will immediately start baby stepping down the path to living your dreams.

Step 1: Determine what dream you want to live first and share it with your friends and family, they will love to follow you on your quest and may become a valuable source.

Step 2: Create a list of all the things that you need to know, get, or do to reach your dream.  Once again, share with your friends and family:

Step 3: Find the easiest item on that list that you can do today, and get it done.  This is similar to the debt snowball method where you want to get a small personal success first which will drive you toward the next success.

Step 4: Next determine which item on your list would have the biggest impact on your goal and set a deadline to accomplish this one item.  For many this may be funding your dream to which you should reference this: Challenge: Start Financing Your Dream Fund

Step 5: Create a list of all your fears and worries.

Step 6: Throw the list created in step 4 away, it will only limit you and more than likely none of it will come true anyway.

Step 7: Knock off the rest of the items on the list.

Step 8: Make sure you share your progress with your friends and family.  Believe it or not, people love to see others achieving their dreams.  You may be a motivational source for them and some may be able to offer unsolicited or unexpected assistance.

Step 9: Live your Dream!

Step 10: Move onto your next dream and follow steps 1 through 10 all over again.

These steps may appear simplistic but most people do not take those first few steps. These are the most important steps to achieving your dreams and once you start down the path you will be surprised at how easy it can be.  Share this with your friends and family.  If you bring them along for the journey you can encourage and support eachother along the way and they will forever be grateful to you for helping them.

I totally agree with taking baby steps! I wanted to be a writer when I was younger and was persuaded to other things by teachers and family. When I finally decided to pursue freelance writing, it took literally only a year before I got my first cheque for a small article I pitched to a magazine – proudest $200 ever!
